Upper Sandusky Municipal Court

Judge James M. Ruhlen
Jane Frey, Clerk

Civil Division

The civil division is responsible for handling general civil cases seeking money judgements: personal injury, property damage, contracts and forcible entry and detainer (evictions). The maximum amount of damages may not exceed $15,000.00.

The civil division also handles trusteeships, appeals to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and rent escrow deposits. It is important to keep in mind that the civil division is separate from small claims, which handles monetary claims up to $6,000.00.

To file a civil case in the Upper Sandusky Municipal Court, the action must have occurred or the defendant must reside within the Court's jurisdiction. The jurisdiction of this Court includes all of Wyandot County.

The Court cannot offer any legal advice or assist in the completion or filing of a complaint. If you have questions, you are advised to seek legal counsel.
